On Saturday, June 5, 2010 over 500 participants joined in the 30th Haena to Hanalei Walk/Run organized by the Hanalei Canoe Club. This annual fundraiser has become a favorite summer event for Kauai residents and visitors alike. Depending on your athletic background you can walk or run the 8-Mile scenic coastal route from Ke’e Beach to Hanalei Pier, run the 5K stretch from Hanalei Pier to Waipa and back, or participate in the 1-Mile Youth Run starting at the Hanalei Pier. Whatever race you choose the main thing is to have fun and enjoy a delicious post-race pancake breakfast at the Hanalei Canoe Club Quarters along Hanalei River amongst friends and family.
The Coldwell Banker Ohana was represented by Lois Lutz (RA), who ran the 5K race in 23:24 minutes (2nd place, Women), and Ruth S. Marvin (R), our Broker-in-Charge, who was happy to finish the 5K race in 27:51 minutes. Ruth’s daughters, Sabrina and Wailana, participated in the 1-Mile Youth Race. Sabrina ran the mile in 6:41 and placed 3rd overall, and Wailana ran a very respectable 8:35.
But don’t be misled. They weren’t there for the run. They were there for pancakes! Yum!
