Save the Dates for the Kilauea Lighthouse Centennial and Kilauea Town as they celebrate their 150th Anniversary!
Come join the Bali Hai Realty Ohana for some fun at the Kilauea Lighthouse Centennial to celebrate the restoration of Kauai’s historic landmark on the North Shore from May 1st – May 5th 2013. It’s a perfect time to get the family together and be a part of the community. For the grand finale, there will be a Kilauea Community Parade and Celebration in the park to also celebrate the 150th anniversary of Kilauea Town. Don’t miss it!
Kilauea Lighthouse is a symbol of the town; and Kilauea Point is one of the island’s most beloved locations and is the most northern point in the Hawaiian Islands. The Point is listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places and is one of Kauai’s most visited sites with more than 500,000 visitors a year.
Below is the schedule of events so save the date and join the fun!
Wednesday, May 1 – Official opening ceremony at Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge. Kilauea Lighthouse tours begin. Evening slideshow at Princeville Library on the History of the Kilauea Lighthouse.
Thursday, May 2 – Special exhibits and Kilauea Lighthouse tours continue at the Reguge. Meet and greet artists displaying their work at the Kilauea Lighthouse Art Night at Kong Lung Center.
Friday, May 3 – Special exhibits and Kilauea Lighthouse tours continue at the Refuge. Kilauea Lighthouse Keeper’s Reunion.
Saturday, May 4 – Official Recognition Ceremony at the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge. Free day of entertainment and activities with the much anticipated relighting of the Lighthouse at dusk. Lighthouse tours continue.
Sunday, May 5 – The grand finale to the festivities will be the Kilauea Community Parade and Celebration in the Park, also celebrating the 150th anniversary of Kilauea town. There will be another free day at the Refuge with Lighthouse tours continuing.
