This Saturday and Sunday, August 1st and 2nd, Coldwell Banker is teaming up with Adopt-a-Pet.com to host the first-ever Coldwell Banker National Pet Adoption Weekend! Is there room in your home for a lovable pooch or a feisty feline?
The Kauai Humane Society (KHS) is a great place to start your search. Check out these adorable canines and let’s help them find a home:
Brenda is a hound mix with lots boundless energy. She is very fond of people and likes to go out for runs but if long walks are more your speed then that’s perfect too. She’s the perfect size – not too small and not too big either. Brenda is a happy well-adjusted little girl hoping to find her forever home with people who will appreciate me and love me as part of their family.
If you want a fun dog that will fit into your active lifestyle, then Ned is your perfect pooch! He’s a smart dog that has learned to sit and come when called. He likes to play with other dogs and loves a good snorkel in the play-yard pool. Ned is about 5 years old and is still an active dog with lots of enthusiasm for life. He would love it if he could be your new best friend!
Fern is a whippet/hound mix that is gentle and friendly to everyone she meets. She walks well on a leash and seems like a quick learner. She is great with people and other dogs and would make a loyal, sweet, and fun addition to any family.
And last, but not least is Toby! He is a two year old energetic bundle of wiggles looking for a happy go lucky family to call his own. He is quick on his feet and would make a great running partner for the right person. He gets along with everyone from dogs to humans and really nothing upsets or frightens him. Wouldn’t your life be more wonderful with Toby in it?
If you don’t have time to adopt a pet but would like some quality pet-time, consider joining the Running Club at the Kauai Humane Society where you can take dogs out for walks and runs. KHS even has a program where you can take a canine out on a field trip!
Many thanks to the Running Club at KHS for giving me permission to use their photos and providing bios on these cute canines! So, thank you to Ginger Kenny, Mimi Ditusa, Tracy Capman, Kim Foster, Carla Bissell, Ann Croydon and Ally Kirk!
It’s National Pet Adoption Weekend this weekend. Please open your home and your heart to a wonderful shelter pet and that lucky animal will love you in return.
