Don’t let the title fool you. Hawaii does NOT recognize Daylight Saving Time.
However, most states on the mainland do, so this notice is for you. Remember to “Spring Forward” this Sunday morning, March 9th at 2:00 a.m. You may lose an hour of sleep, but you gain more daylight at the end of your day so you can run around and do fun stuff while the sun is still out.
Once it goes into effect in the spring, Hawaii is an additional hour behind, so to speak. For instance, during the fall and winter months, we have a two hour difference with Pacific Standard Time. When you adjust your clocks on Sunday morning, we will have a 3 hour time difference. Eastern Standard Time goes from a five hour time difference to a six hour time difference.
Daylight Saving Time goes from March 9 through November 2, 2014.
Aloha and have a great weekend!
