Plein Air ~ This is when a painting is done outdoors rather than in a studio.  The term comes from the French “en plein air”, meaning “in the open air”.  Some artists were particularly interested in the influence of the changing light outdoors on colors.

Experience these painting first hand at the 2^nd Annual Kauai Plein Air Invitational fundraiser on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Grove Farm Museum.

Your admission fee helps the Grove Farm and Waioli Mission House museums.
