The Kauai Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is proud to announce a Free Movie on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the Children of the Land Center located in the Safeway Shopping Center in Kapa’a.

Filmmaker Jean-Christophe Jeauffre and his crew travelled to the home of the legendary white whale and fabled resting place of the lost continent of Atlantis in the Azores to capture the story of the sperm whales that inspired the Herman Melville’s classic tale.

Aluminum Can Round Up for Earth Day!

Help Hanalei School and help the environment. Bring your HI 5 recycling this Friday.

Hanalei Elementary School is currently participating in an Aluminum Can Contest Recycling Contest.

The top school in Hawaii wins $1000 and national winner gets $5000, so far we are in the lead for the entire State of Hawaii!

There are several different ways you can help out:

  1. Ask your neighbors for their HI 5 cans.
  2. If you work at a Restaurant, ask for the HI 5 cans for the night or more.
  3. If you work in an Office, request everyone put their HI 5 cans into a separate bag to bring to the school.

Remember that all proceeds go directly to the Hanalei Elementary School.  This year so far recycling has brought in $4,250!

Bring in your cans this Friday, April 20th from 7:00 to 8:30 am.  There will also be containers in front of the school for your convenience if you cannot make it during the Round Up.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location

As a group of 11 people (6 adults, 5 kids) we really enjoyed the house. The pool was great and views to golf course and ocean were great from the lanai upstairs. Rooms were well appointed and house is decorated beautifully.  I highly recommend Coldwell Banker Bali Hai Realty for making our stay as pleasant as possible, always answering calls and emails for any help that was required.

This truly was a home away from home, beautiful to the eyes and easy on the mind. It was decorated with simplicity, yet equipped with quality ware for every convenience. Even the sheets and towels were high quality and soft. Our young adult sons joined us and each breakfast and dinner was spent on the lanai in relaxed and extended conversation – a priceless experience. The location could not have been better and, after touring most of the island, we realized that this was by far the best place we could have ever stayed.
