The annual May Day Celebration at Hanalei Elementary School took place on
May 13, 2011! Each class from Kindergarten to 6th grade performed a
beautiful Hula or Tahitian dance in front of an enthusiastic audience
consisting of parents, family members, teachers, and the community at large.
The royal court included Princesses, Escorts, Kahili Bearers, the King and
the Queen each representing a different grade. This year’s King was Joel
Deblin, our Front Desk Goddess’ grandson, and the Queen was Sabrina Marvin,
our Broker-in-Charge’s daughter, both finishing 6th grade at Hanalei School.
Sabrina danced a most graceful Hula called Ka Pilina, by Frank Hewitt, and
there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Hanalei Elementary School is known for
its memorable May Day celebrating yet another great school year!
